Metromodels design, manufacture and supply a  range of finished, ready to run '00' scale etched brass models of London Underground tube trains & accessories. We also retail the superb range of EFE tube trains. These are available as static models or motorised trains. 

For those not familiar with '00' scale, this is a popular scale within the UK. Models are built to a scale of 4mm to 1 foot. In the rest of the world 'HO' scale is more common, being built to a scale of 3.5mm to 1 foot. Both '00' & 'HO' scale trains operate on the same track. All our models will operate on popular '00' scale track such as Hornby, Peco, etc.

Metromodels is owned & operated by John Polley, an experienced railway modeller since childhood, with a particular interest in the London Underground system. John formed Metromodels as a result of having struggled to build London Underground ‘tube’ train kits for his first London Underground exhibition model railway layout, 'Mill Ridge'. The very limited number of models available were either too heavy, too difficult to build, did not run very well or were poorly detailed. As a result, he set about designing his own models. The result is an ever expanding range of high quality, hand built, ready to run finished models.  

Our models are individually hand built and professionally finish painted at our production workshop in Sri Lanka. This enables us to remain highly competitive & allows us to offer very reasonably priced ready to run models designed & built to an exceptionally high standard.

The design & manufacturing process for our hand built etched brass models

Our models are supplied finished and ready to run. They are fully painted, glazed, body transfers fitted and packed into a neat stock box. Constructed from etched brass, white metal and plastic injection moulded components, they are smooth running, lightweight miniature models of the prototype trains designed using both the original drawings and pictures of the prototypes.

    1959 & 1962 Tube Stock - London Underground unpainted aluminium livery or the current red, white & blue livery.
