We are
official EFE stockists established for

The EFE tube train models are manufactured as non powered, static
models.
They have fully detailed interiors which includes seats, interior line
diagram maps & also the ceiling mounted strap hangers!
Each car is neatly boxed & fitted to a removable plastic track plinth for
display purposes.
These can be linked together to allow a complete train to be
displayed.
We supply the models in non-powered form or as motorised working trains.
These superbly
detailed models will operate on your 'HO'/'00' scale model railway track
using a standard 12v DC model railway transformer/controller.
They are also suitable for DCC
conversion.

Models are
available as 4 car sets (or 2 car sets in the case of
the Isle Of Wight models.)
We do still have limited stocks of some individual cars
so buy now while stocks last.
Motorised cars are brand new & are fitted with a motor(s), track tested and then
re-packed into the box.
A single motor bogie is required to power a
2 car
train/two motors are required for a
3 or 4 car train.
We can fit a single motor to the rear bogie of each DM car for two car sets.
We fit 2 motors wired together within a single car for 3 or 4 car sets.
This 2nd option is recommend as
it provides maximum traction and will facilitate DCC
conversion.
We can fit DCC chips to all motorised models. Send us your own DCC chip or we
can fit a standard Hornby/Bachmann unit for you.
To order a motorised EFE train - first select the tube train car(s) you require
from the selection below.
Then select the required number of motors you require to be supplied &
fitted against ref. no. EFE101 below.

These trains normally
operate as 2 car trains (1 x DM ‘A’, 1 x DM ‘D’) but extend to
4 car trains (2 x 2 car
units) during the summer season when holiday traffic increases.
The trains operated
as 6 car (3 x 2 car units) when initially delivered to the island
after refurbishment during driver stock/line familiarisation &
testing. They did not operate as 6 car sets in passenger service due
to restricted platform lengths, track sections, etc. If you model BR
Southern Electric then these trains can run prototypically as they
did test trips on the Shepperton branch. Crew training between
Haslemere and Fratton plus the transfers away to the island from
Eastleigh.
