Golders Green station - Northern Line
Taken from the platform at Golders Green station, using a hand held VHS(C) camcorder, these unique video clips feature all three generations of rolling stock operating at the time. Trains of 1959, 1972 complete with guards & a brand new 1995 stock train on test can be seen! The days of both the 1959 & 1972 stocks are numbered and most of the new equipment is by now already installed ready for the forthcoming introduction of the 1995 trains and one person operation.
A southbound 1959 stock train arrives & then departs. The rear end of the train is formed of part of the special 'heritage' train of 1959 stock.
A southbound 1972 stock train with the front part of the train in the experimental blue & white livery which was not subsequently adopted. The current red, white & blue livery was eventually decided on as a result of these livery experiments.
A 1995 stock train on test arrives at the southbound platform and then heads for the depot via the shunting neck south of the station. Trains of 1959 & 1972 stock can also be seen.
